Fried chocolate and caramel bites

What do you need:

  • 2 full-size chocolate covered caramel / nougat filled candy bars (such as Snickers), refrigerated
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of cornmeal
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda

In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, and baking soda, then carefully add the milk to create a fine dough. The batter should still be able to adhere to the candy bars and not drip. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350F. Dip the candy bars into the batter to coat, then fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting into small pieces.

Fried Fruit And Cinnamon Cake

What do you need:

  • 1 package frozen prepared pie crusts, thawed and cut into 6 4-inch squares
  • 1 1/2 cups dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Place the apricot in a saucepan and then add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer until the apricots are tender, about 30 minutes. Reserve tablespoons of the liquid and discard the rest. Place the apricot and reserved liquid in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add the white sugar, butter, and cinnamon and pulse again until all ingredients are well mixed. Spoon 1 tablespoon of apricot mixture into each pie crust square and fold them in half diagonally. Press the edges with a fork to seal. Heat the oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet and cook the triangles until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Healthy Fried Plantains

What do you need:

  • 4 cups of oil for frying
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • brown sugar

Peel the bananas, cut them in half, and then cut each half lengthwise into fine pieces. Heat the oil over medium-high heat in a deep skillet and then fry the banana pieces until golden and tender. Place the fried plantains on paper towels and sprinkle with brown sugar before serving.
