Washington state is the home base of the Seattle Seahawks. This NFL team plays in the western division of the National Football Conference. The Seattle team is known for their ability to put on an impressive performance and it starts with their stunning tackle on their home field. Many people will buy Seattle Seahawks tickets just to watch an Aqur Hawk, named Tania, lead the football team out of the stadium tunnel. The 2008 season and 4-12 record was a surprising turnaround from the division wins the Seahawks have been posting for the previous 4 seasons.

The Seahawks have the distinction of being the only NFL team to have played in championship title games for both the NFC and AFC. This is a fact that makes the fans of the team enormously proud. When they tell others that their “Hawks” are the best, they can point to the team’s impressive record in both conferences.

Seahawks through the years

Today, the Seahawks are one of the dominant teams in professional football. They have claimed the NFC title in 2005 and have won the NFC West Division championship every year from 2004-2007. In 1988, the team played in Super Bowl XL and almost took home the crown. Since 2002, Seattle Seahawks ticket holders have enjoyed attending games at Qwest Stadium, which is a spectacular state-of-the-art sports facility.

In 1972, there was a concerted effort by a group of investors, including the Nordstrom family, to land a new NFL franchise for the West Coast. This time the base of operations would be the city of Seattle, WA. The franchise was awarded to Seattle Professional Football, Inc in 1974. In 1976, the tireless work of fans and investors paid off, and the Seattle Seahawks football team played its first professional game.

Kingdome Legendary Fans Earn Their Stripes

The Kingdome was the first site for the Washington State team to play and the crowds made every game sell out. Fans bought every Seattle Seahawks ticket and their loud, boisterous applause transformed the massive sports complex into the loudest and most electrifying stage in the NFL. The noise was once so deafening that the NY Giants were forced to make 11 false starts in a game they ended up losing to the Seattle Seahawks.

This professional soccer club has several ways to excite the fans and create additional excitement. The team has also officially recognized the loyalty and enthusiasm of its fans. They have done this by making fan support an honorable and important part of activities.

As a tribute to their fans, the Seahawks decided to remove the number “12” from their lineup. They then sold team jerseys with that number, but instead of a player name on the back, these jerseys are usually distinguished by the word “Fan”. The number “12” is also found on a special stadium flag now ceremoniously flown for each of the team’s home games.

The 2009 Seahawks want to be at the top of the division standings soon

2009 will be led by a new coach and there will also be new faces in the squad. Tickets for the Seattle Seahawks will again be hard to find as loyal fans root for their hometown favorites. As Tania leads the new lineup onto the field at Qwest Stadium, the loud cheers of the Seahawk fans will ring in the ears of the players. The team will be determined to once again reaffirm his claim as “the best dog” in his division.
