If I were in the position where I was considering purchasing a wireless headset, one of the first things I would like to know would be what are the advantages and disadvantages of the product I am buying. Both from a general “big picture” and from a detailed perspective.

From this basic research, I can decide what my compensation might be. What things am I willing to commit to, if necessary.

These are some of the more general aspects that I think you should consider before beginning your detailed review. These aspects may not apply to all models, but they are a broad-based perspective from which to build.

The benefits of wireless headphones

1. A good point, from a current financial perspective, would be if a product has the ability to use standard batteries that have efficient and effective playtime without running out. This means that you will not have to replace the batteries as often and will incur additional cost.

2. In terms of sound quality, look for products that have powerful bass that does not distort, as well as clear highs with prominent mids. The hiss and sound clipping are not such great aspects.

3. A charging system that is easy to use and manage will give you less hassle and also save you time in the long run.

4. Make sure that the adapter supplied with the product has at least 3 connection adapters. This is to work with stereo television, game and radio systems.

5. Try to make sure the transmission range extends beyond 30 feet; ranges up to 300 feet are an important positive sign if, in fact, this is proven.

The disadvantages

1. If your computer has a restricted transmission range, you will not get the flexibility you expected. If you don’t put much thought into this aspect, you are fooling yourself and will only find out how restrictive it can be when you start using it for long periods of time.

2. If the system uses rechargeable batteries and you use it for long periods, it can be quite frustrating if you need to recharge them every day. Lost time is wasted enjoyment.

3. The cheaper end of the spectrum may have equipment that looks very cheap and is made of very light and thin plastic, it does not withstand the bumps and bruises that wireless equipment generally receives.

4. Make sure the equipment works properly even when a large obstruction is placed inside the transmitter and earpiece. The position of the transmitter should not be a critical factor for the product to stop working properly.

Obviously, you will have your own ideas about what you want, but sometimes, especially when we are subject to publicity, we can make hasty decisions and not rely on any logic. Avoid this by doing as much homework as you can before buying your pair of wireless headphones.
