This article will show several steps on how to create a video and upload it to YouTube.
Step 1 – Get the Right Video Editing Software (Optional)
If you want to communicate your message more efficiently on YouTube, I recommend that you purchase video editing software. Yes, you can take a “selfie” video of yourself on your smartphone and then upload it to YouTube for free, but your video can be a bit shaky and confusing at times. Also, many of these software applications make it very easy to upload your video to YouTube. Besides, you can also use the software to create some special effects for your video.
Software prices can range from $30 to $200 or more. There is also “FREE” software you can download, but be careful; most free software has extreme limitations on what it can do. If you’re not sure what software to buy, I recommend you go to your nearest computer store, like “Best Buys,” and ask one of the workers which software they think is the best. You can also go to “Google” and type “Best Video Editing Software” and see what you find.
Once you get your software DVD, just insert the DVD into the DVD player and the program will guide you easily. Or if you download the software, just follow the instructions and you’ll be fine.

Usually all that is needed is to connect the webcam to the computer and then install the software.

Play around with your webcam and video software and learn about them. Familiarize yourself with it until it becomes almost second nature. Learn some tricks on how to insert some crazy special effects in your video. But really, have fun doing all this. You will probably learn better when you are more relaxed.

There are many videos of ordinary people like you and me, doing everyday things, like watering a plant or playing with their pets. Or just talking about something. Browse YouTube and watch other people’s videos. This can give you an idea of what kind of video you would like to create.
Step 5 – Decide what kind of video you want to make
Maybe you want to give your opinion on politics. Or maybe you would like to talk about a certain movie. On the other hand, maybe you would like to show the world how well trained your German Shepherd is.
If you feel you have an important message and would like to clearly communicate with your audience, you may want to write a script for yourself. Simply write down what you’d like to say and then record your video, using your script as a guide.

Step 6 – Shoot your “serious” video
Once you’ve nailed down your idea and have a great way to present it, simply record your video and tag it as one of the “IMPORTANT” ones. After all, this video will show your image to the world.

The Final Step: Uploading Your Video to YouTube
That’s it! The final step and what you were waiting for! You are about to finally upload your video to YouTube.
Uploading is usually pretty easy with most video editing software. Most video editing software will have a tool that will automatically upload your video to YouTube. Of course, you can also upload your video from the YouTube website. Just click the “upload” button on YouTube. The “upload” button looks like an arrow pointing up, and the arrow is on top of a line. It is usually located in the upper right corner of YouTube.

Once you upload your video, a screen will appear on YouTube telling you the upload status of your video. The amount of time it takes to load 100% of your video depends on the length of your video.
Once your video is 100% fully uploaded, you will receive a message and your video will now be live.
