Mike Tyson is something of a legend for many bodybuilders. Many have expressed a desire to know about “Iron Mike’s” daily routine. According to what we discovered, you will have to get up early if you want to follow in his footsteps!

This routine was listed on various websites and while I’m not 100% sure of its validity, it seems to be what is considered to be his daily schedule.

o 5 am: Wake up and go for a 3-mile jog
o 6am: Head home for a shower and then to bed (great workout for those huge legs of hers)
o 10am: Wake up and eat oatmeal
12:00 pm: work in the ring (10 rounds of combat)
o 2pm: Eat another meal (steak and pasta with fruit juice drink)
o 4pm: More work in the ring and 60 minutes on the stationary bike (again working those legs for stamina and

Energy)
o 17:00: floor exercises: 2000 sit-ups; 500-800 dives; 500 push-ups and 500 shrugs with a 30kg bar

and 10 min of neck exercises (working biceps, triceps, chest, abs and shoulders)
o 7:00 pm: back to steak and pasta with fruit juice (probably orange juice)
o 8pm: Another 30 minutes on the exercise bike
o 9:30 Watch TV then go to bed

Mike Tyson’s training program may or may not be for you. In fact, some bodybuilders don’t like running as it uses up the nutrients and energy they want to save to build muscle. If you do both without a long rest in between, you can end up losing muscle as you burn off nutrients. There are bodybuilders who run, don’t get me wrong. Running develops muscle fiber in the legs, it is best to rest after training before running.

As for Mike’s diet, oatmeal is a good option. The steak, if it’s lean, is also good. Pasta? Well, there are mixed opinions about eating pasta, but pasta made with white flour should definitely be avoided. Whole wheat is a good carbohydrate for a bodybuilder. According to the list provided, it is lacking in essential fats. You should consume healthy, unsaturated fats such as fatty fish, nuts, seeds, olive oil, and flaxseed oils. Eating 5-7 small meals throughout the day has also been shown to be a much better plan than just eating three meals.

While your routing may have worked for “Iron Mike,” you’ll need to decide if Mike Tyson’s training schedule is best for you.
