Organization is a fundamental key to success, and an area where I sometimes do very well and sometimes not so well. I think a lot of people probably fall into this same trap. That is why there are so many books on organization. I try to stay on top of these books to see what’s good and what’s not, and to keep myself continually motivated to stay organized.

The most recent organization book I’ve read is “Organize Your Life: Get Rid of Clutter and Find More Personal Time” by Ronni Eisenberg with Kate Kelly. My first impression of this book is that I enjoyed it. It was well organized (pun intended) and had lots of very practical tips for regaining control of your life if you seem to have lost it, or just for maintaining that control if overwhelming excess clutter and time-consuming activities have you in their sights. . verge of losing it.

The book contains five parts: 1. Making time: planning and priorities; 2. Make time around the house: 3. Home storage for vacation planning in half the time; 4. Make time in the office: from the load of paper to everything electronic; and 5. Make time: you and your family. These five parts are divided into twenty chapters, with part 5 being just chapter 20. These chapters contain a lot of good, solid information on organization and time management. Much of the information is similar to that found in many other time management and organization books. There really isn’t much you can do to get organized.

So even if there isn’t much “new” information, I enjoyed the book as a quick read full of practical advice. Some of the book was more relevant to my situation than other parts, but that is the case with many texts. If you don’t have an organization book, this book is a good place to start. If you’ve read a lot of them, this book is still a good addition, and at the very least, it will reinforce the tips and advice you should implement and motivate you to “Do It.”
