Health benefits of coffee to justify my cup! Nothing beats the aroma of bean flavored coffee running through our house. My coffee buddy fires up our coffee pot at 6am and soon after, I’m enjoying my first coffee and watching the morning news and reports on TV. I love my coffee and was determined to find a good reason to justify Java and learn about the health benefits of coffee.

Once I finish my first cup, I confess to having a second soon after. However, a girl has to have some vices, and coffee is my thing, although I don’t have it often during the day. I could easily give in to temptation, but the caffeine in coffee has been known to keep me up at night. Sometimes I have an organic decaf or a flavored decaf. Sometimes I have mixed various brands together and created my own Suzie Special!

So what are some of the health benefits of coffee? Coffee is a source of antioxidants that help your body fight free radicals, the bad guys. Decaffeinated coffee has the same antioxidants as regular coffee, but less caffeine. Moderation is key. Daily coffee can help reduce the risk of diabetes, reduce the risk of colon cancer and Parkinson’s disease, and helps prolong physical activity. Coffee can help you stay awake, alert, improve cognitive function, help elevate your mood, and may stop your
headache.

To my knowledge, coffee does not cause breast cancer. Women who suffer from tender breasts, discomfort, and water retention may want to consider reducing their caffeine intake, but it is a personal choice with personal experimentation to find the right level of coffee and caffeine for you.

Forget coffee prices and enjoy yourself in Java. Learn how to make coffee taste as good as the ones you get at Cafés, and experiment with different types of coffee brands and flavors until you find one you really like. Then brew in your latest hot coffee mod and savor the wonderful aroma.

Some things in life are simple, cheap, and good for you. Wonderful healthy cooking oils like flaxseed oil or coconut oil, and a glass or two of red wine are some of life’s pleasures and your daily coffee is another. So sit back, relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy your Java knowing that coffee has health benefits!
