Do you have trouble getting your children to sleep in their own bed? I can sympathize with you. I had the same problem until my friend suggested a toddler air mattress.

I had no idea what he meant, until I investigated further!

So that you understand that I have twins and at night they would wake up and not settle down. Not unless I take them to bed with me and my husband.

Not ideal…as you can imagine!

We were constantly subjected to two little bodies writhing throughout the night, kicking and slapping us, not intentionally of course! But it started to affect our relationship, my husband and I barely slept and became irritable and distant towards each other.

So I decided to try to solve this problem once and for all. I asked myself these two questions:

  1. Why didn’t my kids sleep at night?
  2. Should I try a toddler air mattress? Would that be the solution?

I have found that there are many reasons why children find it difficult to settle or sleep in their own beds.

  • they don’t feel safe
  • suffer from nightmares
  • Your room may be too hot or even too cold.
  • It’s too dark or too light
  • The crib mattress may be too hard

I looked at all these reasons and more. I tried to calm them down before going to sleep; sometimes telling them a story helped, sometimes it didn’t.

You could try asking them directly if they are old enough to understand. Perhaps a night light or favorite sleep toy could also immediately solve the problem.

The answer can be as simple as that.

But if nothing seems to help and you’ve tried everything, you might want to try a toddler air mattress. This inflatable children’s bed is specifically designed with children in mind.

I used it to keep my kids away from my bed. I started by keeping the inflatable bed next to my bed. This meant that they still felt safe, but now my husband and I could sleep well… finally!
