Obesity is caused by several different factors, such as overeating, disease, and malnutrition. It may surprise you that an obese person is undernourished, but it is very possible.

The reason behind this is that when your body doesn’t have enough nutrients, it craves to eat. This is usually junk food as it will give your body the quickest fix. However, this does not provide your body with the proper nutrients and therefore you want more and the cycle continues.

What causes malnutrition?

Malnutrition occurs when your body doesn’t get enough nutrients for it to function properly. This could be due to reasons such as poverty or not choosing a proper diet. It could also be the result of an illness or disease where the body rejects food or is unable to absorb nutrients.

There is little you can do if you are living in poverty and simply cannot afford to buy food, or if you are sick then you may need to take care of your condition first. However, there are many things you can do to choose the right diet to prevent malnutrition.

Choosing a suitable diet

The foods you should eat are fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and seeds. And you should eat these foods raw as much as possible, because cooking them destroys many essential nutrients.

They say ‘an apple a day, keep the doctor away’, but you need a lot more than an apple a day. Your body was designed to live on raw, live foods. Studies have shown that plants can provide you with more usable protein and other nutrients than any other foods like meat, dairy and eggs. But most people don’t even eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as the FDA recommends. As a result, most people are malnourished.

Hungry

Your body signals that it is hungry when it needs more nutrients, not when it has eliminated all food from the last meal. This means that you may still have food in your stomach from your last meal when you send the signal. Some of the so-called healthier foods, like animal proteins, can leave you in this state where you keep wanting more and more before your previous meal has been digested.

Raw, live foods won’t leave you in this state, as they are quickly digested and eliminated from the body in less than 24 hours. Therefore, to avoid overeating, you should follow a raw food diet as much as possible so that your body does not make you overeat on junk food.
