Changing the way we live, the way we see ourselves and the world is not an easy trick. Study the path of nature. Learn its rhythms, its seasons, its cycles. See how it hibernates and rests during the cold winter, taking advantage of that time to recover and heal. Watch it burst into a slow crescendo of bright green colors over spring, rejoicing in the inevitable new growth. See how she gives it her all, her greatest performance, during the summer months before gradually descending into a final burst of changing fall colors. Watch her cool down, go back to her depth, and again take time to collect herself.

These same stations are within us. There are moments to act, to actively participate in creation, action, participation and donation. There are quieter moments when they prepare us for those moments of activity. We cannot give and give without taking time to recover.

There are times of gentle growth when the first blades of grass, the first signs of spring begin to emerge in our lives, whether they indicate a new stage of personal growth, a new stage in a love relationship or the first shoots of life in a project that we are creating.

And every season, every time, leads to the next. There is a purpose and a value in every day of your life, in every stage of your life. Feed your moments of action, of creation, of doing and value the quieter moments of going inward. The more you study nature, the more you will learn about yourself. Nurture and trust the stations of your soul.

This could be a time of great purpose, renewal, and change if we open ourselves to new ideas and commit to moving a little bit each day toward who we want to be.
