They also encouraged their bosses and coworkers to contact them at home and even on their personal cell phones when necessary, such as during emergency situations. They did this to avoid the perception that their absence from the office was a sign of disinterest in their work.

It was also essential for these executives to help their organizations become receptive to part-time work arrangements. They did this by demonstrating that the arrangement was mutually beneficial, by explaining how the company could benefit from increased flexibility and reaffirming their commitment to their jobs.
